The incoming National Facilities Manager will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping the future of the organisation’s property and asset management capability, ensuring its infrastructure remains safe, compliant, efficient, and fit for purpose.

The Opportunity

As National Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic direction, governance, and operational delivery of all facilities functions across a diverse national property portfolio. This role plays a critical part in ensuring asset reliability, compliance, and safety, while driving continuous improvement and value for the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the national facilities management strategy, aligning with organisational priorities and operational needs
  • Oversee all technical building services, including building infrastructure, mechanical & electrical systems, HVAC, fire systems, lifts, and structural maintenance
  • Ensure full compliance with statutory regulations, building codes, and safety standards across all sites
  • Manage budgets, capital works, and maintenance programs, ensuring cost-effective delivery and long-term asset performance
  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of facilities professionals across multiple locations
  • Drive robust contractor and vendor management frameworks, ensuring high-quality service and value
  • Implement and oversee planned and reactive maintenance programs, optimising uptime and reducing risk
  • Champion sustainability and energy-efficiency initiatives across facilities operations

About You

  • You are an accomplished facilities management professional with experience overseeing multi-site national portfolios. Your background includes:
  • Proven expertise in technical building services and facilities management across large-scale or complex operations
  • Strong understanding of compliance, safety, and asset lifecycle management
  • Demonstrated success in strategic planning, budgeting, and capital works delivery
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to partner at both executive and operational levels
  • A collaborative leadership style and track record of building high-performing teams
  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering, facilities management, building services, or a related field (preferred)
