The Australian division of our explosives business has been operating for over 10 years and is undergoing significant growth with the expansion of a production facility in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia and other approved growth projects.
What we are looking for
To support our strategic growth, we are seeking an enthusiastic and suitably qualified Financial Accountant to join our team. Our ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience working in multi-national and multi currencies environment in a mining or manufacturing industry sector.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the role is responsible for ensuring all financial and management reporting requirements are delivered to a high standard, as well as supporting on-going process improvements.
Key responsibilities:
Prepare monthly, half-year and year-end financial reports, including reconciliations and variance analysis with commentary.
Prepare annual budgets by cost centre and monthly forecasting.
Keeping inventory records precise and ensuring prompt entry of data.
Addressing inventory discrepancies and promptly resolving any issues.
Monitor Stock by conducting routine inventory inspections to confirm inventory levels.
Helping with inventory-related tasks during monthly and yearly closing processes.
Working with purchasing and warehouse teams to optimise inventory procedures.
Prepare monthly cash flow forecasts to assist with the company’s working capital management.
Coordinate the external audit requirements of the company.
Review and improve internal financial controls and processes to enhance efficiency and mitigate risk.
Advise on technical accounting and compliance issues.
Maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, auditors, and external regulatory bodies.
Provide mentorship and guidance to other team members and internal customers.
Complete ad-hoc finance tasks and projects as required.
About you:
Tertiary qualification in Finance, Commerce or related
Certified Practising Accountant (CPA)/ Chartered Accountant (CA) accreditation highly desirable
Minimum 5 years demonstrated experience in financial accounting/management role
Experience with D365 or similar accounting products highly desirable
Ability to deal with complex financial and operational challenges
Interpretation and analysis of financial statements and management accounts
Demonstrated experience in applying technical accounting (IFRS) knowledge
Strong time management skills with the ability to be flexible
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
High attention to detail
Ability to work in a team and autonomously
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Project Management skills
