Manufacturing Manager

We’re looking for a hands-on Manufacturing Manager to lead a new greenfield manufacturing setup in Sydney. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a site from the ground up, establishing processes, building a small team, and driving daily production once operations are underway.

This role will play a key part in establishing the foundation for long-term success. You’ll be responsible for setting up manufacturing work-flows, determining resource and equipment needs, and ensuring every element of production runs safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You’ll have the freedom to shape how the operation is structured and the chance to make your mark from day one.

Working closely with operations and supply chain leadership, you’ll help define production schedules, manage supplier relationships, and ensure products are assembled and delivered to specification. You’ll be the type of person who can move between strategy and hands-on work easily, comfortable with solving problems on the floor while also implementing the systems that prevent them in the first place.

What you’ll be doing:

• Setting up and managing end-to-end manufacturing and assembly processes
• Recruiting, training, and leading a small on-site team (around 3–5 people)
• Overseeing quality control, packaging, and daily production activities
• Liaising with suppliers and coordinating materials and logistics
• Performing hands-on troubleshooting, process improvements, and work-flow setup
• Developing procedures, work instructions, and safety standards to support scale-up
• Identifying opportunities for efficiency and cost improvements across the operation

What we’re looking for:

• Background in manufacturing, assembly, or production operations (electronics, mechanical, or precision products experience welcome)
• Proven experience leading small production teams with a practical, hands-on approach
• Comfortable working in a greenfield or fast-growing environment, building systems and structure from scratch
• Strong understanding of quality, safety, and lean or continuous improvement principles
• Solid technical and problem-solving skills with a focus on getting things done right the first time
• Exposure to working with overseas suppliers or component manufacturers is a plus
