Report to the CFO

Our client continues to expand at an alarming rate, and with further exponential growth forecast in the next few years, a need has opened up for an experienced, career driven accountant to oversee all financial operations for approx. 10 entities, alongside two other accountants.

Your primary responsibility will be to manage month end processes, tax compliance, financial reconciliations and timely preparation of board reports, annual budgets and forecasts. You will mentor junior staff and strengthen internal controls across revenue recognition, receivables, payables, bank reconciliations and transaction processing.

Other key aspects of the role include:

Leading the month end close including journal preparation, balance sheet reconciliation and variance analysis.

Maintain the integrity of the GL

Supporting the CFO with monthly management report preparation, board reporting, annual budgets and financal forecasts.

Ensuring compliance with all statutory obligations, including BAS, IAS, PAYG, FBT and annual tax returns

Liaise with external tax advisors and auditors to ensure timely lodgement and audit readiness

Maintain accurate tax schedules and ensure accurate and timely reporting of GST andpayroll tax.

Support implementation and maintenance of automation or systems improvements

Drive improvements and efficiencies

Harness a culture of continues learning and process improvement

Our ideal applicant will be minimum degree qualified (CPA/CA preferred) with 5 years experience in a similar multi-entity, multi-industry environment. You will have a calm, solutions-based approached, with a sound knowledge of Australian Tax and Accounting Standards and advanced proficiency on Excel and financial modelling.

You should also have an ability to lead and motivate teams, and display high attention to detail, sound analytical skills and the ability to manage competing priorities. We require a strong communicator to maintain important stakeholder relationships. Previous job stability is a deal breaker due to their superb staff retention record.
