Join Our Finance Team at The Star Brisbane as a Financial Accountant!

The Star Brisbane is Australia’s newest entertainment hub at the heart of the new Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct. The first phase is now open, with more venues and experiences on the way. Are you an experienced Financial Accountant with a keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering high-quality accounting services? The Star Brisbane is looking for a dedicated Financial Accountant to join our dynamic Finance Team. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in delivering top-notch financial accounting services, ensuring compliance with policies and meeting deadlines, all while contributing to the continued success of The Star Brisbane.

A few of your responsibilities:

  • Perform financial accounting services for the property/function including journal processing, month end GL close, balance sheet reconciliations, basic management reporting and tax support.
  • Assist with delivering monthly reporting to business partners including Balance Sheets, reconciliation summaries, P&L analysis.
  • Preparation of reporting packs for The Star Brisbane and business units where required
  • Preparation of Regulatory Reporting
  • Investigate and resolve transactional issues (such as misallocations, late adjustments, inter-company mismatches). Escalate where required.
  • Perform analysis of P&L to assist with month end processing

What we are looking for:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CA/CPA qualified (or currently studying)
  • At least three years’ experience in similar financial accounting role
  • Good communication skills
  • High level of numeracy and reconciliation skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience within a highly regulated or gaming environment is highly regarded
