About the Role
The Communications Advisor plays a key role in delivering communications support across internal channels and staff events. This position is a key member of the Employee Communications team and responsible for producing high-quality internal newsletters and communications that reach all university staff and contribute to a connected and informed workplace.
Working closely with colleagues in the Employee Communications team, as well as other communications professionals and stakeholders across the university, the Communications Advisor will produce weekly and ad-hoc staff email newsletters, draft and publish written and visual content for the intranet, Viva Engage and other relevant channels.
The role also supports the planning and delivery of employee events, contributes to regular reporting on communications activity, and assists with the planning and implementation of key communications initiatives for internal stakeholders.
Success relies on being proactive in identifying communication opportunities and building strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders to educate, influence, and ensure messages are delivered clearly and effectively.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Demonstrated excellence in communications strategy and planning.
- Excellent content production and editorial skills combined with an ability to work under time pressure to produce high quality communications materials.
- Experience with digital communications channels, multimedia and enterprise social platforms (e.g Viva Engage, Workvivo, Workplace).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and the ability to identify and analyse emerging opportunities with respect to their communication needs.
- Building and managing relationships with a goal to influence and educate stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to use metrics to inform development and evaluation of communications strategies.
- Experience with issues and crisis management.
