Bar Idda is a Sicilian-inspired restaurant and wine bar in the inner north. We pride ourselves on showcasing a rotating seasonal menu of authentic Sicilian recipes, and a small wine list of hand-selected bottles to complement our food offering. With an inside and outside dining space, as well as 2 private dining rooms upstairs, we're a venue with lots of moving parts and plenty of variety to offer throughout the week.
We're looking for someone to work with chef owner Alfredo LaSpina to manage the day to day operations of the kitchen and oversee the chef team, including but not limited to:
Leading a range of day and night services
Overseeing ordering, costing, and stock management
Rostering, wage cost management and hiring
Training junior chefs to maximise their potential
Menu and dish creation, including frequent specials to showcase new ideas

The ideal candidate will have a minimum Cert III in Commercial Cookery and previous kitchen management experience at a sous chef level or higher, in a similar restaurant environment, as well as:
A passion for good food and good service
Very strong communication skills and the ability to lead by example
Good time management and organisation skills
A teamwork mentality.
Previous experience in Italian style cooking is desirable but not essential.
Position title and salary are negotiable by experience level. Chefs in the early stages of their management career are also encouraged to apply.
