About the role

The Medical Workforce Officer will carry out recruitment/credentialing transactions and project officer tasks in relation to the appointment of Senior Medical and Dental Officers and Medical Locum Officers in Murrumbidgee Local Health District.

As the Medical Workforce Officer, you will:

  • Manage a portfolio of medical contract provision for locum medical officer and visiting practitioners (VMO, HMO and VP) focusing on Rural Generalist recruitment and contracts.
  • Work with locum coordinators to ensure locum requirements and the correct documentation is received and generate locum contracts are provided in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with DMS’, EDMS, Cluster and Facility Managers to provide support and advice to managers for medical contracts, credentialing, and medical recruitment.
  • Support individual Doctors and Practice Managers with eCredential applications
  • Oversee management of employment checks as per relevant NSW Health policies
  • Maintain systems including eCredential, Stafflink, ROB.
  • Maintain email inboxes and respond to queries in a timely manner, escalating where necessary.
  • Investigate and respond to enquiries of a more complex nature and prepare correspondence.
  • Manage advertising requests in ROB and other platforms ensuring all adverts are of a high standard with optimal marketing achieved.
  • Provide support to the monthly Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee by contributing to meeting agendas, preparing applications in eCredential
  • Assist the Medical Workforce Manager with operational components of career programs, such as liaising with stakeholders, trainees and clincians to resolve queries, raising invoices for GP Practices and assisting with annual recruitment.
