As a Clinical Coder, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely coding of inpatient episodes of care using ICD-10-AM classification, ensuring alignment with the Australian Coding Standards and SWSLHD policies. You'll play a key role in supporting our mission to deliver safe, high-quality, and personalised care across our communities.

Key Responsibilities
Analyse clinical documentation and abstract relevant clinical and demographic data.
- Assign codes using the ICD-10-AM classification system and Solventum Codefinder
- Maintain coding accuracy and output in line with NSW Ministry of Health timeframes.
- Participate in audits and quality improvement activities.
- Stay up-to-date with coding standards, policies, and continuous education.
What We're Looking For
- Qualifications in clinical coding e.g completion of a recognised coding course or relevant degree in Health Information Management .
- Previous/current work experience in clinical coding preferred or a strong aptitude, passion and eagerness to be trained as an entry level coder.
- Strong understanding of anatomy, disease processes, and medical terminology.
- Knowledge of DRGs, Casemix, and episode funding applications.
- High attention to detail, excellent time management, and ability to meet throughput targets.
- Commitment to ethical coding and quality documentation practices.
