A highly respected insurance brokerage based in Melbourne, looking to hire a Financial Lines Broker

Your new company

Join a highly respected, award-winning insurance brokerage known for delivering expert advice across a diverse portfolio of clients. With a strong focus on professional development, team culture, and client service, this organisation offers the technical capabilities of a large firm with the personalised approach of a boutique business. The brokerage is well-known for working with respected clients across a range of sectors, with a particular focus on Financial Lines, including Professional Indemnity, Directors & Officers, Management Liability, and Cyber.
This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced Financial Lines broker - or a developing Assistant Account Executive - to take the next step in their career with a market-leading business.

Your new role

As a Financial Lines Account Executive, you will be responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of financial lines accounts. Reporting to the Account Director, you will deliver high-quality service and advice, ensuring compliance and operational excellence across all client interactions. Depending on your experience, the role may be tailored to suit an Assistant Account Executive looking to step up, with structured support and mentoring provided.

  • Manage a defined portfolio of financial lines clients, ensuring all servicing requirements are met with precision and professionalism.
  • Prepare and process client questionnaires, ensuring completeness and accuracy prior to renewal or new business placement.
  • Handle all aspects of policy administration including endorsements, cancellations, renewals, and documentation, maintaining detailed addendum notes and audit trails.
  • Coordinate premium funding arrangements and debtor follow-ups, ensuring timely invoicing and financial accuracy.
  • Liaise with insurers to organise risk surveys and ensure completion of any recommendations or risk improvements.
  • Maintain and update renewal pre-lists, ensuring all compliance and internal policy requirements are met.
  • Provide tailored product advice across Financial Lines classes including PI, D&O, ML, Cyber, and associated liability products.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in insurance broking, ideally with exposure to Financial Lines products such as Professional Indemnity, Directors & Officers, and Cyber Liability. A minimum of 2 years is preferred, though candidates with less experience may be considered at the Assistant Account Executive level.
  • Tier 1 broking qualification is required for Account Executive applicants. Candidates with Tier-2 and a desire to complete Tier-1 will be considered for the Assistant Account Executive pathway.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple client portfolios and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and client-focused approach.
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Experience with broking systems such as Winbeat, OfficeTech, Sunrise, SVU, or SCTP will be highly regarded.

What you'll get in return

  • Salary package of $80,000-$100,000 + superannuation, depending on experience.
  • Hybrid working arrangements following probation period.
  • Free on-site parking and a central office location with easy access to public transport.
  • Structured training and mentoring from an experienced Account Director.
  • Clear promotion pathways and opportunities to grow into senior roles.
  • Performance incentives and recognition for individual and team achievements.
  • A supportive team culture with regular celebrations, social events, and staff outings.
  • Access to ongoing professional development and technical support from in-house advisors.
