The AIHW is seeking talented and enthusiastic Data Analysts and Project Officers to join our high performing and collaborative units across the institute. Our Data Analysists and Project Officers support our business areas to deliver our analytical, data improvement and project work. The successful applicants will demonstrate strong foundational skills and aptitude for statistical and research project work across a variety of subject areas. Vacancies currently exist across the following work groups:
- Community Services Group
- First Nations Health and Welfare Group
- Health Systems Group
- Housing and Specialised Services Group
- Population Health Group
- Primary Healthcare, Information Standards and Communications Group
- Priority Populations and Capability Group
Our Data Analyst will perform the following functions:
- Support data related activities including data management, validation and processing large datasets.
- Using software tools such as (SAS, Python, SQL, R, and other software) to manipulate, interrogate, and manage databases.
- Assist in conducting research and performing statistical analysis, contributing to the interpretation of data.
- Contribute to designing, researching, analysing, and presenting information in various verbal, visual and written formats.
- Assist with data system administration tasks including data governance, testing, output vetting and data distribution.
Our Project Officers will perform the following functions:
- Provide support in assisting and managing projects within the institute by exercising sound organisational and planning skills.
- Assist in planning, tracking and implementing project activities.
- Contribute to creating and maintaining project documentation, registers and other governance requirements.
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to assist with project delivery.
Under general direction, both these roles may also include:
- Liaising and negotiating with internal and external stakeholders including government agencies, State and local authorities, and business or community organisations.
- Assist in the development of reports, dashboards, and visualisations to communicate findings clearly.
- Contributing to data governance and compliance with privacy and security standards.
- Providing secretariat functions, including administrative, communication, research and coordination support where necessary.
