About Us:

Welcome to The Perth Mint, where golden career opportunities await.

The Perth Mint is an iconic Western Australian organisation operating on a truly global scale. Situated in East Perth for over 125 years, The Perth Mint is a premier tourist destination, an award-winning exporter, and a key supplier of precious metals to markets throughout the world.

There’s no organisation quite like it, with a variety of roles available, from engineers and chemists to artists and technicians.

Foster your fascination and pride in our work. Get inspired every day by the world-class precious metal products we work together to refine, design, produce and then distribute all over the globe. Connect to the rich history of our industry in a workplace firmly rooted in the present — as leaders in sustainability and inclusion.

At The Perth Mint, you’ll be supported in a diverse team where differences are celebrated and your well-being matters — striking the right work-life balance with compassionate team benefits. And if your career goals change, you’ll be empowered to change roles with training and internal mobility.

We value inclusion and welcome applicants from all backgrounds, including First Nations people, people with disability, LGBTQI+ communities, culturally diverse groups, youth, and seniors. If you need accommodations, please contact [email protected].

The Opportunity:

We’re looking for someone who knows how to build trust, spark connection, and help us show up with purpose. This is a full-time, 12-month parental leave cover based in East Perth, and it’s a chance to step into a role that sits right at the heart of how The Perth Mint engages with government and community.

With a local, national, and international lens, you’ll be the person behind the scenes making sure our relationships with elected officials, departments, and agencies are strong, respectful, and well informed. One day you might be preparing a briefing for a Minister, the next you’re helping our Executive team navigate complex issues, preparing government submissions or hosting foreign diplomats.

This role is about more than just process. It’s about people.

You’ll help us stay connected to the world around us, understand what’s changing, and respond with clarity and care. If you’re someone who enjoys working across teams, thrives on thoughtful communication, and wants to make a real impact during a key moment in someone else’s journey, we’d love to have you with us.

About You:

You’re someone who understands how government works - not just the formalities, but the relationships that make it tick. You’ve spent time in State or Federal government, or in a role where engaging with elected officials was part of your everyday. You know how to write clearly, speak with confidence, and offer advice that helps people make smart, informed decisions.

You’ve got a degree in something like Public Policy, Politics, Journalism or PR, and you’re a strategic thinker who knows how to turn insight into action. You’re comfortable preparing submissions, briefing notes, and correspondence that hit the mark, and you’re just as confident collaborating across teams to get the details right.

You’re curious, calm, and deeply committed to doing things properly. You keep your ear to the ground, spot opportunities early, and help others stay informed and prepared. You care about people, about how we communicate, how we show up, and how we build trust over time.

If you’re ready to bring your energy, empathy, and expertise to a role that’s all about connection, and you’re up for a rewarding 12-month challenge - we’d love to hear from you.

About The Perth Mint

Perth Airport, WA, Australia

The Perth Mint is Australia’s largest fully integrated, innovative precious metals enterprise, providing premium gold, silver and platinum products and services to markets throughout the world.

We have invested more than one hundred years in servicing and promoting the gold industry by developing and nurturing the markets for refined precious metal products across the globe: specifically, gold and silver bullion and highly-sought-after collectable coins.

As one of Western Australia’s largest exporters, we distribute some $18 billion worth of pure gold, silver and platinum bullion bars and coins to investors in more than 100 countries annually.

Located in Perth, Western Australia, and still operating in our original premises in the east end of the city, we also host a premier tourist destination. Committed to sharing the fascinating story of Western Australian gold, and our own rich history, with the global community, our world-class Gold Exhibition brings these stories to life, while our elegantly appointed retail shop offers customers a selection of our State’s natural treasures, exquisite jewellery and giftware.

The relationship we have forged with both miners and consumers is unique, and is at the heart of our global success. This relationship spans the entire spectrum of the precious metal value chain, from the mines themselves, to the delivery of physical products and investment solutions to markets the world over.
