Senior Contracts Advisor – Mining

Location: Perth, WA

Commencement: 1 December 2025

Engagement Type: 12-month contract with potential for extension

Roster: Monday to Friday (5:2)

Our client, a leading organisation in the resources sector, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Contracts Advisor to provide end-to-end commercial and contractual support on a major mining project. This role is based in Perth and offers an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing team within a well-established business.

Position Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of contractual and commercial processes, from procurement strategy and tender execution through to contract administration and close-out. This includes overseeing the award and post-award management of major equipment supply and construction contracts, ensuring alignment with project timelines, commercial objectives, and company governance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Management of contract-related correspondence
• Review and approval of payment claims and variation orders
• Coordination of contract progress meetings and documentation
• Assessment of Extension of Time (EOT) claims in consultation with project stakeholders
• Preparation and review of project progress reports

• Manage all commercial activities associated with contract formation, negotiation, and execution
• Provide ongoing contract administration and support including:
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, internal policies, and project procedures
• Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders across project, legal, procurement and finance teams to support successful contract outcomes
• Monitor contractor performance and maintain accurate commercial records

Qualifications & Skills:

• Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Law, or a related discipline
• A minimum of 8 years’ experience in a contracts/commercial role supporting mining, oil & gas, or major infrastructure projects
• Demonstrated experience in both contract formation and administration
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Well-developed commercial acumen and analytical skills
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement abilities

Desirable:

• Experience with PIMS or similar contract management systems
• Previous exposure to large-scale EPC or EPCM projects
