Overview

We’re seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Project Officer to lead the development and delivery of strategic waste, recycling, and circular economy projects that respond to current and emerging environmental challenges.

What You’ll Do

• Design and implement waste and recycling strategies, including new initiatives like food recycling.
• Lead major strategic projects that shape the future of waste and cleansing services.
• Collaborate with planners, developers, and stakeholders to improve waste outcomes in developments.
• Support procurement processes and develop service agreements for waste-related services.
• Provide expert advice on waste issues to government, industry, and community stakeholders.
• Identify and champion innovative solutions to local and state waste challenges.
• Represent the organisation in strategic forums and build strong partnerships across sectors.

What You’ll Bring

• Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Management, Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience in waste and resource recovery.
• Strong project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and evaluation.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and report writing abilities.
• High-level problem-solving and strategic thinking skills.
• Solid understanding of waste legislation, policy, and contract management.
• Class C Driver’s Licence.

• Experience working in Local or State Government.
• Familiarity with emerging trends in waste, recycling, and circular economy sectors.
