The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Architectural Draftsperson to join our dynamic team in North Sydney. As a pivotal member of our studio, you will work closely with our architects, translating conceptual designs into precise technical drawings. You will be integral to the entire project lifecycle, contributing to a wide range of exciting projects.

Key Responsibilities

· Collaborate with architects to interpret and develop initial concepts, translating them into detailed preliminary sketches that form the foundation for comprehensive designs.

· Take ownership of producing comprehensive drawing sets using AutoCAD and SketchUp, including meticulously detailed floor plans, elevations, sections, and critical construction details.

· Develop and resolve complex construction details for key building elements such as roof structures, wall assemblies, and facade systems, ensuring buildability and precision.

· Perform rigorous quality assurance reviews on all drawings, verifying dimensions, proportions, annotations, and symbols for accuracy and clarity according to project standards.

· Utilize your SketchUp skills to model and visualize design intent, helping our clients and collaborators to experience the unique spaces we create.

· Serve as a key technical point of contact, maintaining clear and effective communication with internal design teams, engineers, and other project stakeholders to ensure design intent is maintained and seamlessly integrated.

· Participate in and document on-site surveys to gather accurate data and verify existing conditions, providing critical support for the design and drawing accuracy.

· Assist in resolving technical queries from the construction team during site visits, acting as a bridge between the design studio and on-site execution.

· Implement and maintain a systematic approach to managing all technical documents, drawing libraries, and project files, ensuring all changes and revisions are accurately tracked and accessible to the team.

· Actively contribute to the team's technical knowledge base by staying updated on industry standards and best practices, continuously learning and applying new techniques to enhance workflow efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills

· A Bachelor's degree or higher in Architecture, Architectural Design, or a related field. We highly value proven technical skills and extensive experience.

· A minimum of 5 years of professional experience as an Architectural Draftsperson.

· A comprehensive portfolio is mandatory for all applicants.

· High proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and the Adobe Creative Suite is essential. Experience with or a willingness to learn Revit is highly regarded.

· Essential understanding of building codes and technical standards

· Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team.
