We are a not-for-profit, membership-based union seeking a Finance Officer (part-time), to assist the Financial Accountant in monitoring and accurately recording the financial transactions within our union.

The position offered is permanent, part-time (3 days/22.8 hours per week) based onsite in Murarrie, QLD.

As the Finance Officer, your area of responsibilities include:

Accounts Payable

Administration and management of accounts payable, including entering, processing and payment of supplier invoices, sending remittance advices, statement reconciliations, and staff expense reimbursements.

Accounts Receivable

Administration and management including billing of invoices.

Payroll Support if required

Set up & general update of staff card files and leave processing.

Month End Duties

Payroll deduction listings upload

BPay payments upload

Corporate credit card reconciliations

Assist in end of month journals if required

About you:

At least two years’ experience in an Accounting/Finance role

Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting (degree minimum)

Knowledge and proficiency in XERO or similar accounting software

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in MS Office (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)

Understanding of accounting principles, accuracy and attention to detail

Demonstrated initiative in resolving queries and willingness to assist

Self-motivated, enthusiastic, collaborative, and reliable

Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills

Previous non-for-profit / Union working experience is desirable
