About the Role
As a Community Development Coordinator (Community Capacity Builder) at Feros Care, you'll lead local projects that help create more inclusive, accessible, and empowered communities for people with disability. You'll work closely with individuals, families, carers, and community organisations to design and deliver initiatives that reduce barriers, promote inclusion, and build long-term community strength. With a strong regional focus, your work will be guided by local needs and aimed at making a real, lasting impact.

What you'll do:
- Design and deliver community capacity building initiatives aligned with the NDIA's ILC Policy Framework
- Build strong partnerships with local organisations, government agencies, and diverse community groups
- Facilitate community mapping to identify service gaps and opportunities
- Co-design initiatives with people with disability and their families
- Engage with priority groups including First Nations, CALD, LGBTIQA+SB, and rural/remote communities
- Develop project plans with measurable outcomes
- Monitor and report on the impact of initiatives
- Ensure compliance with Feros Care and NDIA systems and frameworks
- Support continuous improvement and regional service planning
- Work alongside Local Area Coordinator (LAC) teams to embed community capacity building in their work
What you'll bring:
- Experience in community development or capacity building with measurable outcomes
- Knowledge of the NDIS, disability sector, ILC Policy Framework, and Partners in the Community program
- Ability to build genuine partnerships and co-design with people with disability
- Strong project planning, community engagement, and communication skills
- Excellent self-management and organisational abilities
- A commitment to inclusion, diversity, and accessibility
- Experience managing community events is a plus
Qualifications & Checks:
- Tertiary qualification in community development, social work, or a related field (desirable)
- Access to reliable transport for community outreach
- NDIS Worker Screening Check & Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
- National Criminal History Check
- Valid Australian working rights
- Lived experience of disability is highly valued
