We are seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist to join our busy multi-doctor orthopaedic surgical practice on a permanent part-time basis, working six days per fortnight.

As one of the first faces our patients will see when they arrive, our ideal candidate will have compassion, a sense of humour, a keen eye for detail ensuring the highest standard of care and service for patients attending our practice alongside a positive work ethic.

Key Responsibilities will be (But not limited to)

· Meeting and greeting patients in a warm and friendly manner

· Answering incoming phone calls and responding to queries

· Making patient appointments and maintaining accurate and up-to-date electronic records

· Liaising with hospitals, anaesthetists and assisting surgeons for surgery bookings

· Assisting with preparing surgery paperwork for patients including estimates

· Invoicing daily consultations accurately and sending to Medicare

· Completing day to day tasks as asked by Practice Manager or Doctors

· Maintaining strict confidentiality

What we’re looking for

· 2 years medical experience (Specialist practice preferred)

· Knowledge of Medicare, DVA, Workcover and Private Health Fund Billing

· Previous experience in Genie/Gentu Medical Systems

· Strong multi-tasking and time management skills

· Exceptional level of customer service

· Keen attention to detail

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable engaging with patients of all ages and backgrounds.

Hours of Work and Renumeration

We are looking for a permanent part-time member (6 days a fortnight working Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday) to start as soon as possible. The successful part-time candidate may be required to provide occasional extra coverage during staff leave, sick leave and busy times in the office.

We are offering $35 per hour plus Superannuation for the right applicant.
