AWX are seeking an experienced Leading Hand to join two local projects at the Southern end of the Gold Coast. This role is a crucial part of the construction operations of this project, it involves overseeing the day-to-day activities of our on-site workforce and ensuring the successful delivery of current projects.
We will also consider highly skilled labourers for this project.

THE ROLE

• Coordinating construction work and ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
• Ordering materials, equipment and labour, to maximise productivity
• Maintaining site security and fences
• Overseeing the correct installation and maintenance of site safety measures including handrails, bunting etc
• Site cleaning and maintenance
• Monitoring progress and quality of work, and implementing necessary corrective actions
• Communicating regularly with the project manager
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental regulations
• Assisting with the planning and scheduling of construction activities
• Someone with experience as a Leading Hand with a proven track record of successfully working on construction projects
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate teams
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on finding practical solutions
• Thorough understanding of construction methods, materials and equipment, as well as relevant health and safety regulations
• Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings, plans and specifications
• Willing to jump in and get on the tools' when needed

REQUIREMENTS

• Certificate III in civil construction or similar qualifications
• Ability to read and interpret plans
• Organise the project to run efficiently and effectively manage the trades on site
• Good level of physical fitness
• White Card or construction blue card (physical copy)
• Willing to commit to Monday to Friday day work with possible Saturday work.
• Reliable transport to get to and from the depot.
• Relevant competencies
