We are working with a State Government Department looking for a Senior Technology Officer.
This position leads the delivery of IT services within the Business Systems team.
You’ll oversee the provision of technical support, systems administration, and expert advice to staff, ensuring a stable and efficient technology environment across the organisation.

The systems supported are bespoke in nature (such as VisualFiles, eDocs, and Elite).
🌟 While prior experience with these specific platforms is not essential, a strong background in database management, systems administration, and government environments will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the IT support services of the Helpdesk, ensuring responsive and client-focused service delivery.
• Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues, conducting analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution.
• Perform systems administration tasks including device management, server maintenance, and performance monitoring.
• Support software installation, configuration, and testing, and assist with deployment processes.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders on technology requirements, system changes, and issue resolution.
• Liaise and negotiate with internal IT teams and external technology vendors.
• Support the implementation of IT projects, taking ownership of technical components and delivery outcomes.
• Ensure all IT services are delivered in line with security, compliance, and quality assurance standards.
• Supervise and mentor Technology Officers, including task allocation, rostering, and capability development.
• Contribute to a high-performing, collaborative team culture that values knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
• Identify and implement process improvement opportunities that align with organisational objectives and values.
