The role
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Finance Officer is responsible for:
Preparation of month, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Preparation of business activity statements.
Payroll processing and STP reporting.
Payment of invoices and bank reconciliations.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
Assist in the investigation of financial data to ensure issues, risk and/or compliance breaches are identified.
Investigate variances to ensure all issues, risks and/or compliance breaches are identified and managed in a timely manner.
Develop financial models and spreadsheets to provide detailed analysis and meaningful commentary regarding key issue highlighted by management reports.
Undertake financial modelling and scenario analysis to support decision making.
About you
You will be result focused with a 'can do' attitude and proficient in Microsoft Excel. CA/CPA (or equivalent) qualification is preferable. However, experience and competence with the above disciplines will take precedent. You will have experience in all aspects of finance including internal and external reporting, payroll, tax, cash flow management, budgeting, financial analysis and compliance.
To achieve this, it is essential that you have:
A strong background in financial and management accounting.
A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in financial and management accounting is required.
Experience using MYOB and Xero accounting software.
Experience with MYOB accounting software is preferred, with knowledge of Xero being advantageous.
Demonstrated experience and knowledge with payroll, superannuation, tax, payroll tax and insurance.
Knowledge regarding SME and associated benefits (salary sacrifice/FBT.)
Commercial negotiation and contracts management skills and experience (preferable).
Flexible, collaborative and 'hands-on' in the detail without losing sight of the big picture.
Approachable and able to manage multiple and competing deadlines.
Capability requirements
Key capabilities for success in this role are:
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, and with MYOB and Xero accounting software.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong knowledge of financial systems, business and commercial acumen.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Excellent decision-making ability with strong negotiation skills.
Work effectively within a team and autonomously.

Be an Australian Citizen.
Hold or be eligible to hold a security clearance of at least Baseline.
