Your new role:

As an Administration Officer within the Pre-admission and Elective Surgery Access Team, you'll play a key role in providing timely, accurate and high-quality administrative support to ensure smooth patient journeys and effective team coordination. You'll work closely with Specialty Case Managers, Nurse Unit Managers, and other staff to deliver exceptional service by:

  • Coordinating patient appointments, managing cancellations and rescheduling, and maintaining waiting lists.
  • Providing excellent customer service to patients, staff and visitors — both in person and over the phone.
  • Managing and prioritising workload to meet deadlines and support team efficiency.
  • Accurately recording and updating patient information across key hospital systems (HBCIS, ieMR, ESM, Powerchart).
  • Assisting with billing, data integrity, and reporting tasks.
  • Contributing to process improvements and maintaining a commitment to safety, quality, and confidentiality.

The Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital (QEII) is a medium metropolitan adult facility providing a range of inpatient and outpatient services including a 24-hour Emergency Department. We provide a range of services, including surgery, cardiology, endoscopy, orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, geriatric, respiratory and emergency medicine.

We're making our hospital bigger and better to make it easier for our growing community to get the health care they need. We'll have more beds, medical wards and expanded intensive care and emergency services planned to be opened by 2027.
