We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst / Application Specialist to join our Business Systems team. This newly created role is pivotal in supporting and enhancing our Retail Directions ERP system, which underpins our POS and core retail operations. You will also work across a diverse technology stack including Microsoft SQL Server, Boomi middleware, Manhattan SCALE WMS, and Dynamics 365.

This is a hybrid role with a strong technical focus, ideal for someone with a passion for retail systems, a deep understanding of SQL, and a desire to grow into a future DBA or technical product owner.

Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into clear, actionable application requirements.
• Conduct gap analyses to identify discrepancies between current system capabilities and business objectives.

Application Management & Support

• Ensure the smooth operation, maintenance, and optimisation of core business applications, particularly Retail Directions ERP.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues in collaboration with internal IT and external vendors.
• Manage system upgrades, patches, and enhancements to ensure minimal disruption and maximum performance.
• Configure and customise applications in a sustainable and supportable manner.

Process Improvement & Automation

• Identify inefficiencies in business processes and propose application-based solutions.
• Support workflow automation initiatives using application features or integration tools like Boomi.
• Contribute to digital transformation projects across the business.

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure application changes meet business requirements.
• Collaborate with developers and testers to validate bug fixes and new features.
• Maintain test cases and documentation for application enhancements.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

• Act as a liaison between business users, IT teams, and external vendors.
• Support vendor selection processes and manage software contracts and licensing.
• Ensure third-party applications meet business, operational, and security requirements.

Key Technologies & Systems

• Retail Directions ERP (primary application - 80% of the role)
• Microsoft SQL Server - strong SQL skills essential (stored procedures, troubleshooting, performance tuning)
• Boomi - middleware for integration
• Manhattan SCALE - Warehouse Management System
• Microsoft Dynamics 365
• SSIS - desirable for integration and data transformation
