Senior Business Development Manager (Air/Sea Freight Forwarding)
Location: Tullamarine, VIC
Work Type: Permanent / Full-Time / Hybrid
Salary: $140,000 - $160,000 + Super + Commission (Salary negotiable based on experience)
Vectura Recruitment is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Business Development Manager to join a well-established globalinternational freight forwarding business. This role is ideal for a results-driven professional with deep industry networks and a strong track record in international logistics sales, particularly across air and sea freight forwarding.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to take ownership of high-value commercial relationships and contribute directly to the long-term growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively source, qualify, and convert new business opportunities across key industry verticals
- Develop and manage a strong pipeline of prospective clients using CRM tools and data insights
- Create tailored solutions for clients across air and ocean freight, collaborating with internal operations teams
- Lead client proposal development including quoting, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations
- Drive strategic sales plans aligned with business objectives and GP targets
- Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities to deepen client relationships and expand service uptake
- Manage end-to-end client onboarding in partnership with operational stakeholders
- Deliver high-quality service and maintain long-term relationships through regular account follow-ups
- Report on sales activities and pipeline forecasts to senior leadership
- Act as a brand ambassador in the market, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of competitors and trends
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of proven success in B2B international freight forwarding sales, ideally across both air and sea
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing large account relationships
- Demonstrated ability to build, manage, and convert a pipeline of high-value opportunities
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills across all levels
- Sound understanding of international trade, Incoterms, and customs brokerage processes
- Proficient with CRM platforms and sales reporting tools
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams
- Willingness to travel locally for client meetings as required
