About the role:
Council is seeking an application from an enthusiastic, suitably qualified and/or experienced person to join our team as the new Visitor Information Centre Officer.
This role is a permanent part time (2 days per week) ongoing position based at the Loddon Visitor Information Centre (Friday and one weekday which is negotiable).
The key objectives of this position are to:
· Promote tourism throughout the Loddon Shire and support local tourism businesses
· Contribute to the daily operations of the Visitor Information Centre through quality visitor servicing
· Support and coordinate the recruitment and retention of Visitor Information Centre volunteers
· Support and coordinate the development of group tours and itineraries
Band 4 salary range $67,834 - $72,556 (0.4 pro-rata) per annum plus employer superannuation
About you:
The successful candidate will have:
· Knowledge of the tourism industry
· Sound interpersonal and communication skills
· Ability to work with community groups, tourism operators and representatives of the tourism industry
· Experience as an administrator with capability in the use of office computer systems
· Ability to work as part of a multifunctional team and on an autonomous basis
· Experience working with volunteers and / or managing staff or volunteer rosters
