As a key part of the Northside community the Bracken Ridge Tavern has been fostering a sense of belonging and shared experiences for over 50 years. Now undergoing our biggest renovation yet we need an experienced bar manager to join our Tavern hospitality team. Embracing the fresh and contemporary aesthetics our open bar is situated within the 300 seat restaurant. The bar manager will be integral in defining this new space using their creativity and genuine passion to succeed within the hospitality scene. The ideal candidate must thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment highlighting their strong leadership and personnel management skills. With a customer service orientation and commitment to company values the bar manager will focus on operational details to ensure the comfort, safety and enjoyment of guests, job satisfaction of staff and the financial success of the establishment.

Responsibilities and duties:

Monitor and maintain inventory including requisitions

Create drink menus and maintain drink recipe documentation

Staff hiring and training to meet service standards levels

Prepare staff rosters including coverage for sick or absences

Oversee bar cleanliness and staff readiness

Resolve customer complaints promptly within company guidelines

Maintain budget and monitors costs

Work with management planning for special events

Oversee the preparation of beverages including cocktails and coffee and ensure quality of product served

Manage orders and volume, delegating tasks to ensure prompt, efficient service standards and delivery

Use point-of-sale tracking technology and bar and restaurant management platforms

Ensure adherence to liquor licensing laws and conditions.

Skills required:

Accomplished mixologist with attention to detail and extensive working knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages

Excellent leadership; able to multitask and problem solve in stressful situations

Creative, organised individual that remains calm under pressure

Background in hospitality desired with resource management and inventory control

Customer service orientation with experience in fast paced, high-volume venues

Proficiency with math, point-of-sale software and technology platforms

Enthusiasm, lots of energy and a sense of humour needed!!

Prior experience leading a team in similar role with proven results.
