ABOUT THE ROLE

Foxwood Custom Joinery is growing rapidly and we're seeking a qualified, experienced Production Manager to lead factory operations, labour scheduling, and internal project delivery at our Scoresby workshop (just off Eastlink).

You’ll oversee the day-to-day production of diverse retail, commercial, residential, event, and office joinery projects, managing timelines, team performance, and quality.

This is an off-the-tools, leadership role. You’ll be a key player in ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to spec — with a strong focus on team leadership, client expectation alignment, and labour efficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the General manager charged with overseeing national business operations across Vic & QLD

Work along side the National Preconstruction manager to deliver varied projects

Oversee daily production scheduling, managing the Factory Foreman and shopfloor team

Coordinate job flow, install readiness, and workshop output

Liaise with Setout and Project Managers to align production with project milestones

Manage client expectations around timelines and delivery

Enforce QA across all factory output — know each project and ensure compliance to drawings/specs

Control inventory and material readiness (with Production Admin support)

Lead a team of 10+ with the support of Factory Foreman

Ensure factory safety, cleanliness, maintenance, and WHS compliance

Liaise with suppliers regarding orders, delays, and workflow needs

Maintain a calm, professional environment under deadline pressure

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

5+ years of experience in the joinery industry, including at least 2 years in a production leadership role

Strong understanding of project delivery, internal scheduling, and workflow coordination

High competency in reading and interpreting plans and shop drawings

Experience using scheduling software and production systems

Proven team leadership ability — lead by example and manage performance proactively

Strong communication and people skills — including conflict resolution

High attention to detail, problem solving, and time management

Strong material and hardware knowledge essential

Commercial awareness — understand how labour impacts margin and deadlines

Clear spoken and written English essential
