Are you a hands-on, commercially astute People & Culture professional, ready to tackle complex employee relations in a high-volume, fast-paced environment?
We are seeking a People & Culture (P&C) Advisor for a critical 12-month fixed-term contract. Reporting to the People & Culture Business Partner, this role is your chance to provide expert, commercially-focused people advice and operational support across our dynamic cleaning and catering business units
The Challenge & The Impact
This is an essential, hands-on advisory role where you will act as a trusted partner to frontline managers across geographically dispersed sites. You will be the primary point of contact for P&C policy interpretation and implementation.
Your core focus will be on ensuring compliance, mitigating risk, and fostering a productive, high-performing workforce, underpinned by our values: Care, Integrity, and Excellence.
What you'll be doing:
Employee Relations (ER) Mastery: Manage complex and sensitive ER cases end-to-end, including disciplinary action, grievances, performance improvement, and termination processes.
Legal Compliance & Award Interpretation: Provide expert advice on relevant employment legislation (federal & state) and interpret/ensure consistent application of Modern Awards across the business.
Performance & Development: Drive the effective execution of the performance management framework and manage the annual review and development planning processes.
Risk Mitigation: Prepare all required documentation for disciplinary and performance processes to mitigate risk and ensure legal compliance with the Fair Work Act.
Strategic Support: Partner with the Recruitment team on high-volume staffing drives, advising on contract templates and compliant offer letters. You will also assist with managing workplace investigations and external disputes.
WHS & Injury Management: Support managers with advice on adjustments and accommodations related to non-work related illness or injury , and assist the Return to Work Coordinator with injury management protocols
What you will bring:
A Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related field is Essential.
Demonstrable end-to-end experience managing the full employee life cycle, including resourcing, L&D, performance, reward, and employee relations.
Proven ability to manage complex and sensitive ER cases end-to-end, showing sound judgement and commercial acumen.
Expert knowledge and understanding of relevant Australian employment legislation and Modern Award interpretation.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience as a trainer and presenter.
