Project Manager (Fire Safety Technical Specialist)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager (Fire Safety Technical Specialist) to join the Fire Safety Maintenance team on a contract basis. This team is responsible for managing and overseeing specialised fire safety maintenance programs, ensuring compliance across the Housing NSW portfolio, and delivering expert technical advice.

You will play a key role in carrying out compliance inspections, managing contract performance, and ensuring that all fire safety maintenance works meet required legislative standards and KPIs. The role will involve both on-site and desktop audits, with some statewide travel (including overnight stays) required.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Housing NSW’s fire safety standards and all relevant legislative requirements.
• Conduct on-site and desktop compliance inspections of fire safety maintenance.
• Manage contract performance, routine servicing, reporting, and risk-based quality assurance.
• Translate highly technical information for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Establish and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor industry developments and regulatory changes to ensure best practice.

About You

• Strong background in fire safety maintenance, contract management, or compliance auditing.
• Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
• Flexibility to travel statewide, including overnight stays when required.
• Proven experience delivering projects in line with industry and legislative standards.
