Psychosocial Risk Project Officer

Temporary Role | Immediate Start | Local Government

We’re seeking a qualified and experienced Psychosocial Risk Project Officer to support the development and implementation of psychosocial hazard management strategies within our WHS framework. This role plays a key part in enhancing employee wellbeing and safety across Council operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and review psychosocial risk management procedures

Support WHS and injury management systems aligned with legislation

Assist in incident response, audits, and business continuity planning

Provide expert advice on psychosocial risk controls and safety culture

Prepare risk assessments and operational documentation

Collaborate with stakeholders and contribute to continuous improvement

Essential Criteria:

Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or senior-level experience in psychosocial risk management

Clinical, psychological, or mental health qualifications with 5+ years' experience in workplace settings

Proven ability to develop clear, practical procedures that balance risk and service delivery

Experience advising on complex safety incidents and business continuity matters

Strong project management skills with a record of driving system/process improvements

Demonstrated ability to promote and support a positive safety culture

Current NSW Class C Driver’s Licence

Desirable:

Experience in Local Government

Additional qualifications in Workplace Training, Incident Investigation, or Return to Work Coordination
