About MidWest Trucks

MidWest Trucks is a full-service Penske dealer supporting Western Star, MAN and Detroit Diesel. We provide routine truck maintenance, truck & trailer repairs, wheel alignments, and a comprehensive parts supply for Penske brands as well as other makes and models. Our customers include local transport companies, fuel tanker fleets, bus & coach operators and farmers—people who rely on us to keep their fleets on the road and their drivers safe. We run a modern operation with high standards and we’re growing fast, including a new truck sales division on the way.

The Opportunity

As Parts Manager, you’ll own the day-to-day performance, profitability and growth of our Parts Division. You’ll lead a small, capable team (Parts Interpreter and Storeperson), get hands-on with key accounts, and build supplier partnerships that lift margins and service levels.

What you’ll do

Lead & develop the team – set clear standards, coach for performance, and foster a high-energy, customer-first culture.

Run an efficient operation – oversee back counter support for our workshop and front counter sales for external customers; ensure the right part is in the right place at the right time.

Own inventory & warehouse – keep stock accurate and organised; drive tidy, efficient warehouse practices and reliable receipting/booking.

Grow sales & relationships – build strong ties with fleet managers, council depots and key accounts; execute proactive outbound activity and targeted promotions.

Build supplier depth – negotiate with new and existing suppliers; expand our range and develop cost-saving alternative (non-genuine) options without compromising quality.

Lift margins & profitability – analyse pricing, monitor freight and costs, report on performance, and implement practical initiatives that move the needle.

What you’ll bring

Proven experience in parts management or senior parts leadership within heavy vehicles, or automotive.

Strength in people leadership - you set pace, coach well, and create accountability in a small team.

Commercial acumen: confident with margin, pricing and basic P&L drivers; you turn analysis into action.

Customer focus with a relationship builder’s mindset - you’re credible with fleet managers and technicians alike.

Strong systems skills (comfortable with Office 365; exposure to Pentana or similar DMS is a plus).

Current driver’s licence; forklift licence advantageous.
