About the Role

We are seeking a full-time Sports Development Officer to join our team in Mentone, Victoria. The position is responsible for the planning, promotion, coordination, and delivery of tennis programs and associated sporting activities. The role will involve engaging with schools, youth, community groups, and stakeholders to increase participation in sport, while also ensuring the effective management of competitions, events, and coaching services.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate sports development programs, including school clinics, community outreach, coaching sessions, and competitions.

• Promote participation in tennis and related activities across a wide range of target groups, including youth and community organisations.

• Coordinate program logistics, schedules, resources, and staff.

• Monitor participation outcomes and prepare reports as required.

• Support coach development and program quality assurance.

• Represent Excel Tennis in community engagement and stakeholder relationships.

Selection Criteria

• Relevant qualifications (minimum Diploma level) in Sports Development, Sports Management, Coaching, or a related field.

• Demonstrated experience in sports program management and/or tennis coaching.

• Proven organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Proactive problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Current Working With Children Check (or ability to obtain).
