About the opportunity
Port Pirie Regional Council has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly skilled manager to manage the development and implementation of plans and strategies that will contribute to the achievement of the Community Plan. The position will oversee multiple facets of Council including tourism, events, libraries, community development, community wellbeing, arts and culture.
Reporting to the Director Corporate and Community, the position will establish, coordinate and lead with appropriate and effective management, systems and processes within Council to ensure desired outcomes are achieved and manage the integration of community services, projects and programs offered by all services located in the Cultural Precinct.
The position is classified at Level 6 of the South Australian Municipal Salaried Officers Award and Associated Enterprise Agreement for a 5 year fixed term contract with an immediate start desirable.
About You
To be considered for this position, you must have:
formal qualifications to degree level in a relevant discipline and/or significant relevant experience;
demonstrated experience in leading, developing, managing and supporting team outcomes and performance;
the ability to successfully deliver projects and services on time and within budget;
working knowledge of social and strategic planning models and processes in community asset development and service delivery;
knowledge of Local Government Act and other applicable legislation, Local Government’s role in providing services to the community,
high degree of communication skills; and
demonstrated high levels of interpersonal skills and work ethics.
