We’re looking for an Operations and Office Manager to join our Melbourne team in a pivotal role that keeps our people, offices, and systems running seamlessly, whilst supporting the People & Culture team to create an exceptional employee experience.

This position not only oversees the day-to-day operations of our Melbourne office but also leads office managers in Brisbane and Sydney, ensuring a consistently high standard of workplace experience across all locations. About the Role

As our Operations and Office Manager, you’ll play a central role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of Hardie Grant. From office management and IT oversight to corporate support and ESG initiatives, this is a diverse, hands-on role with real impact.

Key responsibilities include:

Office and People Management

• Lead the daily operations of the Melbourne office, ensuring a welcoming and efficient environment.

• Manage vendor relationships, supplies, safety compliance, and support new employee setups.

• Lead and support office managers in Brisbane and Sydney to deliver a consistent employee experience across all offices.

IT and Corporate Support

• Manage IT services provided by our external partner, managing hardware, software, licenses, and serving as the escalation point for IT issues.

• Manage key corporate services including insurance, trademarks, car and phone fleets, building communications, health & safety initiatives, and travel policies.

Policy, Projects, and Internal Communications

• Review and implement systems, policies, and processes that improve productivity and streamline costs.

• Project manage new platforms and systems, ensuring smooth adoption.

• Lead operational internal communications and ensure effective use of central tools across the business.

B Corp & ESG Initiatives

• Support Hardie Grant’s commitment to B Corp alignment and ESG strategy by embedding sustainable and socially responsible practices into operations.

• Ensure operational decisions consider social and environmental impact.

About You

The ideal candidate will have demonstratable experience in a similar role. You will bring:

• Exceptional organisational and project management skills.

• The ability to juggle multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence to engage with senior stakeholders.

• Previous experience in managing an engaged team.

• High attention to detail and accuracy.

• Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Financial acumen and experience managing budgets, reporting, and operational processes.

• A collaborative, proactive, and friendly approach.

• An interest in ESG and B Corp values.

This role is based onsite in our state-of-the-art Melbourne office, five days a week, enabling you to directly shape our workplace experience and support our teams across Australia. Salary offered will be based on experience and is in the range of $85,000 - $100,000 + superannuation per annum (full-time).
