The Role

A State Government department is seeking a Senior UX Designer (VPS5.1) to lead design across major digital services and projects. You will conduct user research, lead prototyping, and deliver scalable, accessible design solutions. The role involves producing journey maps, wireframes and UI assets, managing design standards, and ensuring WCAG 2.1 compliance. This role is a VPS Fixed Term until November 2026, with a potential to extend.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver UX research, prototyping and design solutions for complex projects.
• Produce journey maps, personas, wireframes and high-fidelity UI designs.
• Develop and maintain design standards and frameworks.
• Ensure all outcomes meet WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards.

About You:

• Strong experience in UX/UI design, research and strategy.
• Proficient in Figma, Miro, Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1).
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Desirable: Experience with GIT, React, Material UI, Bootstrap, JavaScript, .Net.
