About the Role:

Our client, an established and prominent womenswear label, are seeking a senior designer to lead their Evening Dresses department - the highest driving department of the brand.

The Senior Designer will work in close concert with the Founder, Business Unit and Design Team to identify and execute on areas of opportunity for the department as well as producing garment specs and briefs on all aspects of the product design and development.

The Senior Designer will work in close collaboration with the General Design Manager and other designers within the business to produce cohesive collections within the brand universe.

About You:

We are seeking a designer with 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role

You will be skilled in visualisation (both hand sketches and CAD using PC/MAC)

You will have an innate ability to translate trends into commercial concepts

You will have solid technical knowledge, garment construction skills and basic fabric and raw material knowledge

A demonstrated understanding of the basics of the critical path and their commercial impact is essential

You will have solid literacy in the full Adobe Suite, CAD, MS Office and Outlook

You will be a keen follower of all trends and retail markets, both local and overseas

You will be able to comfortable work both solo and collaboratively as part of a team and experience working directly with Creative Director or Head Designer level will be highly advantageous

And of course, you will be a lover of fashion with a passion for and drive to create beautiful evening wear
