About the Role
As the Workplace Relations Manager, you’ll lead a small team of Employee Relations Advisors and play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality employee and industrial relations advice and support across the organisation. This national role provides strategic and hands-on support to leaders and internal stakeholders on complex case management, investigations, disciplinary matters, grievances, and broader ER/IR initiatives.

We’re seeking a confident and capable leader to join our People & Culture team for a 6-month fixed-term contract to backfill the current incumbent who is being seconded to a project role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach a small, high-performing ER team
  • Manage complex and high-risk ER/IR matters and investigations
  • Provide advice on EBAs, Awards (preferably SCHADS), and legislative compliance
  • Support organisational change initiatives with sound industrial relations advice
  • Build leadership capability across the business via coaching and training
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of P&C policies, systems, and frameworks

You will bring:

  • Significant experience in workplace relations, ideally within the not-for-profit, health, or community services sectors
  • Strong leadership and coaching capability
  • Excellent knowledge of Australian employment legislation and industrial frameworks (including SCHADS Award preferred)
  • Experience managing investigations, grievances, and complex employee relations cases
  • Strong written and verbal communication, with sound judgement and influencing skills
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and empathy
