THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Fire Safety Engineer to join a growing, high-calibre team in Sydney. Reporting to the National Manager, this is a senior client-facing role where you will deliver innovative fire safety strategies, support major projects across all sectors, and help shape the growth of the fire engineering division. You will bring strong technical expertise, leadership qualities, and ideally some existing client relationships to contribute to the firm’s ongoing success.

DUTIES

• Review project briefs and assess fire safety implications beyond minimum BCA compliance
• Provide fire engineering support during both design and construction stages of projects
• Develop tailored fire engineering strategies balancing performance solutions and deemed-to-satisfy design
• Prepare and deliver Performance Based Design Briefs and Fire Engineering Reports in line with Australian Fire Engineering Guidelines
• Conduct and report on fire, smoke, and evacuation modelling
• Consult with stakeholders, clients, and suppliers to incorporate feedback and inputs
• Perform fire engineering assessments, audits, and design reviews for blue-chip clients
• Develop strategies that reduce essential services maintenance costs over a building’s life cycle
• Deliver quality services on time, on budget, and to regulatory standards

ABOUT YOU

• Postgraduate / Masters qualifications in Fire Safety Engineering
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• Accredited Fire Safety Engineer in NSW preferred
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in fire engineering consultancy
• Strong report writing and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships, with commercial acumen
• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes
• Ability to bring existing client connections highly regarded
