The Role
• Conducts investigations into serious and fatal workplace incidents as directed.
• Within a team environment, assists senior inspectors/investigators gather evidence for highly complex, sensitive and/or high-profile investigations into serious and fatal workplace incidents.
• Undertakes scene examination related activities as required.
• Carries out workplace inspections and takes enforcement actions when work health and safety laws are breached.
• Interprets and applies work health and safety and other relevant legislation, policies and procedures as part of the investigative and/or inspection process.
• Maintains the integrity of investigations by adhering to investigative standards and/or the criminal standard of proof and legal precedents.
