The Role
· Prepare investigation reports and where necessary.
· Develop prosecutions briefs and present expert evidence. • Provide advice and information on the status of investigations to management and families of affected person
· Undertake sensitive, high-level enforcement activity aligned with the Directorate's programs and policies including court hearings.
· Provide direction to other investigation branch staff and Mines Safety inspectors in the conduct of investigations.
· Contribute to the achievement of a high performance, multidisciplinary investigation team and assist in capacity development through effective mentoring.
· Liaise with external organisations throughout the mineral resources sector to develop and maintain effective working relationships and enhance confidence in the role of the regulator.
Qualifications & Licenses
Bachelor of Engineering or approved equivalent degree and a thorough knowledge of OH&S in a mining context is required.
