Women's Housing Limited (WHL) is a state-wide not for profit organisation that provides low costs housing to women at risk of homelessness. Women and their children make up an increasingly large percentage of those in need of affordable housing. Those groups that are likely to experience housing stress include older women over 55 and women who are forced to leave their home due of family violence.
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Officer to join our Finance team on a 12-month maternity leave contract.
About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, you’ll be responsible for processing invoices, managing payment runs, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting compliance. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our financial operations run smoothly and support our broader organisational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Process and pay invoices in line with organisational policies and payment schedules
Manage the accounts inbox and ensure appropriate invoice approvals
Conduct mid-month and month-end payment runs
Reconcile bank accounts monthly
Maintain accurate creditor master files and onboard new suppliers
Reconcile bank accounts monthly and support audit processes
Manage staff company credit cards and ensure timely collection of receipts
Contribute to the development and review of finance policies
Collaborate with internal teams and maintain effective external relationships
What you'll Bring
At least one year experience in accounts payable
Proficiency in Xero accounting software and excel
Professional and positive attitude
High attention to detail and commitment to financial accuracy
Experience in the not-for-profit or community sector desirable
A degree in accounting would be advantageous
