About the Role
Due to an internal secondment, we are looking for a HR Administration Officer. You will have the responsibility to deliver expectational customer service to our school leaders and employees within Catholic Schools Broken Bay. This is a temporary, full-time role to commence 27 October 2025 and conclude 30 October 2026.
This role supports the effective delivery of key HR operations, including comprehensive pre-employment checks (such as the Working with Children Check and Teacher Accreditation), contract preparation and management, and onboarding processes. It also requires the accurate and timely entry of data into the HRIS system.
A strong focus on detail is essential, as the role involves managing a high volume of data entry, validation, and contract-related administrative tasks on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the first level contact (i.e. triage officer) for the resolution of all requests and queries
Administer contracts of employment, maintain HR records and ensures data processed into our HRIS system is accurate
Manage onboarding procedures for school and central office staff
Ensure accurate and efficient processing of all new hires and changes to existing employment arrangements in the system
Provide accurate, timely and quality advice, information and guidance to leaders and staff
Ensures all new appointment and employment adjustments satisfy legislative or organisational policy requirements
Provide high quality advice whilst remaining responsive to the client needs OR escalate matters to senior leaders
Analyse issues, metrics and trends to identify and manage risk and/or recommend actions
Monitors and maintains the teacher and school support staff casual resource pool
A deep commitment to safeguarding as everyone's responsibility and prioritising child safety
Essential Criteria
Minimum 2+ years of HR Administration experience
Completed or working towards an HR qualification e.g. Bachelor’s Degree, Diploma, AHRI certification
Supportive of the Catholic ethos and values
Quick learner with a pro-active mindset
Keen eye for detail ensuring quality in all aspects of work
Process-orientated individual with strong organisational skills
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously while ensuring consistency and accuracy across all tasks
Commitment to delivering high-quality customer service and maintaining positive relationships
Ability to manage competing priorities and consistently meet deadlines
Display a friendly and professional demeanour with excellent written & verbal communications skills
Solid skills in using the Microsoft Office Suite
