The Role:
As an APS4 Branch Support Officer, you’ll join the Recruitment and Entry Level Programs team to support end-to-end recruitment and onboarding activities. This is a 12-month non-ongoing position, based in Canberra. While the role requires full office attendance initially, hybrid arrangements may be negotiated after the first few months.


Duties

• Provide culturally responsive recruitment support across corporate areas and regional hostels.
• Coordinate recruitment and onboarding administration including pre-employment checks, contract preparation and file management.
• Assist with selection panels and drafting employment documentation.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Skills and Experience

• Experience in HR, recruitment or administration. APS experience not essential, although advantageous
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Knowledge of APS recruitment legislation and merit principles (or ability to acquire quickly).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on inclusion and cultural safety.
