About the Opportunity
The Town of Gawler has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and community-focused professional to join the team at the Gawler Sport and Community Centre as a Recreation Customer Service Supervisor. This role provides shift supervision, staff direction and is responsible for the delivery of customer service to support Centre operations and programs, with a focus on the popular Friday night Skating program.
What you’ll be doing
Provide the primary point of contact for all patrons of the Gawler Sport and Community Centre and providing a high level of customer service.
Provide shift supervision for the successful delivery of recreation program, facility hirers and eventsProvide oversight and guidance to Recreation staff.
Respond to first aid and emergency situations in accordance with Council procedures.
Conduct opening, closing and daily tasks, including cash handling and end of day banking reconciliations.

What we Give
Opportunity – A part-time contract role with a minimum of 10.5 hours per week (0.28 FTE), covering evening shifts from 4:30pm to 9:30pm on a Tuesday and 4.30pm to 10.00pm on a Friday.
Work Life Balance - 5 weeks annual leave (pro rata), sick leave and paid qualification entitlements.
Salary – This Level 2 role offers a competitive hourly rate of $38.55 - $41.69.

What you Bring
Proven customer service experience, with the ability to liaise effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
Strong communication skills – clear, professional, and adaptable across verbal, written, and digital platforms.
Ability to oversee and guide staff, fostering a positive, customer-focused team culture.
Effective computing skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, experience in cash handling and a background in providing administrative support.
(Preferred) Experience in recreation or community centre environments, with an understanding of program and facility operations.
To be successful in this position, you must have the qualifications listed below, or be willing to obtain them before you start:
Current Provide First Aid and CPR.
Current Department of Human Services Working with Children Check.
Safe Environment for children and young people ‘through their eyes’ training (Mandated notification).
