The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works in partnership with 15 National Boards to implement the national regulatory scheme for health professionals. The purpose of health practitioner regulation is to protect the public by ensuring that only health practitioners who have the skills, qualifications and knowledge to provide safe care are registered.

Reporting to the Regulatory Advisor – Registration (Exam Coordination and Operations), this role provides a range of administrative and operational support for the delivery of nursing and midwifery examinations, including providing secretariat support to examination committees, managing exam bookings, maintaining an examinations registration calendar, examination bookings with external providers, and refreshing examination information for publication on the Ahpra website with a focus on Ahpra’s values to deliver high performance.

This is a full time, fixed term position, available for twelve months with a possibility of extension, and can be based in Melbourne, Brisbane or Adelaide. Interstate travel will be required in this role.

In this role you will:

  • Maintain systems and procedures that underpin the timely and effective delivery of examinations for National Boards including maintenance of examination datasets, communicating with candidates, meeting support and documentation, and issue identification/resolution.
  • Complete timely reporting when required on candidates in relation to examinations and contribute to the monitoring of financial planning and reporting of examination activities.
  • Contribute to the development, review, and continuous improvement of the examination processes including policy and procedures.
  • Provide coordination and invigilation support to examinations, and process applications and eligibility of candidates as required.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders for follow up and progression of issues associated with the delivery of examinations.
  • Ensure the delivery of an excellent customer experience through the provision of high quality service and respond to and resolve customer concerns as required.

As the ideal candidate, you will demonstrate the following:

  • Proven experience in a similar role and/or environment, demonstrating adaptability and relevant skill application.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across diverse audiences.
  • Exceptional time management and organisational abilities, with a strong track record of meeting deadlines and managing competing priorities.
  • Capacity to navigate and contribute within a complex administrative environment, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Collaborative team player, with the ability to work effectively and respectfully within a small, dynamic team.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills, including the ability to assess complex issues, identify root causes, and implement practical, effective solutions.
  • Demonstrated initiative and the ability to work independently, showing sound judgment and accountability when working autonomously.
  • Consistent reliability in delivering assigned tasks, with a commitment to quality and follow-through.
  • Certificate II in Business Administration or similar experience
