The Opportunity:
As the Recreation Facilities and Services Projects Officer, you’ll play a vital role in building the capacity of local Committees of Management and ensuring our recreation spaces are well supported. You’ll drive projects, develop policies, and identify funding opportunities that boost participation in sport and recreation. Working closely with community groups, consultants, and internal teams, you’ll be a connector and problem-solver, balancing community needs with Council strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead projects that build the capacity of Committees of Management.
- Develop policies, standards, and guidelines for recreation facilities and services.
- Support the planning, design, and delivery of key recreation projects.
- Build positive relationships with community groups, lessees, and stakeholders.
- Undertake research and prepare reports to support effective decision making.
Based in Bairnsdale, with regular travel across the region, this is a full-time, ongoing position.
What we’re looking for (Key Selection Criteria)
- Tertiary qualification or experience in recreation planning or a related field
- Strong project management and community engagement skills
- Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders and Committees of Management
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organisational skills
If successful, you will need to undertake a police check. You must also be legally entitled to work in Australia.
