Position
Due to company expansion, a Field Technician has become available; specializing in the installation and servicing of advanced communications, entertainment, and IT systems for the maritime industry.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Installation of Systems: Perform on-site installation of satellite communication systems, fleet broadband, and entertainment technologies on various vessels including yachts, cruise ships, and offshore vessels.
- System Setup and Configuration: Configure and optimize systems for optimal performance, ensuring proper integration with onboard networks and equipment.
- Service and Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of communication and IT systems, diagnosing issues, and providing solutions to ensure continued operational efficiency.
- Customer Support: Provide excellent customer service by working directly with clients to address their needs, answering technical inquiries, and delivering hands-on support during installations and services.
- System Testing and Calibration: Perform comprehensive testing and calibration of all systems to ensure they meet industry standards and client specifications.
Experience Required
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, a customer-focused approach, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in dynamic maritime environments.
To be considered for this position it is vital that you have the below:
- Installation & Troubleshooting Skills: Proven experience in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of ANY form of Communication/Data/IT Hardware/Cabling/Audio-Visual Systems.
- Hands-on Experience: Comfort with performing on-site service tasks, including diagnostics, repairs, and system optimization.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly identify and resolve technical issues in dynamic environments.
- Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel to various maritime locations, sometimes for extended periods, as part of on-site installation, support and service tasks.
- Note: Any form of Naval/Defence Electronics Background is NOT necessary, however there are incentives in place for those who are looking to leave/recently left the Australian or NZ Defence Force and as such, are strongly encouraged to apply.
