One the largest Earthmoving Hire companies that employees over 1200 staff and has over 14000 machines listed throughout Australia, New Zealand and the West Coast of America is looking for State sales manager that can lead and build a successful sales team but also drive the business forward throughout all of Melbourne Victoria. This business has been newly restructured and seeks a proven leader that can see the potential growth and look to develop the commercial side of the business through leadership and high-end commercial sales.
Job Opportunity
This role is not your average State Sales Manager role, there are many challenges on the way and the COO for the Group is looking for someone that can take a stand against the key competitors and start to win back market share but also keep the key relationships that they have already established and forge ongoing business. The business has always worked with the Tier 2 and Tier 3 Civil customers that feed the Tier 1 clients like Downer, Fulton Hogan, Winslow, Daracon, Thiess just to name a few.
Your role is to win and secure national and state-based projects, The rental operation has had major wins in the civil project space, and we need someone that not only has the connections but also has proven sales experience at either state based or nationally. You will create and build the brand of the business whilst winning major project throughout Victoria. You will have support from the Administration teams as well as service, parts, aftermarket and sales team internally.
You’re also going to be involved in building a strong sales team and looking to employee one of the best sales teams that want to work for market leader in Earthmoving Equipment hire. Your direction will be split from leadership and management to working your market area.
Your fleet has a mixture of excavators, wheel Loaders, rollers, Graders, water carts, site dumpers, dozers, wheeled excavators. The senior management team are also looking at other lines of equipment and this will also come down to your input and direction once in the role. Once the market starts rebuilding you will be need to review the current team and look to make changes in how the business operates but also look to get the best from the technical operation.
You will work alongside the National Sales Manager and Asset manager that will support your service side and aftermarket side of the business. This will give your direction and support function so you can focus on the matter of Sales and management.
Candidate Requirements
· 5 + Years in Sales Management within the Hire Industry. (This is a MUST Have)
· Major project wins with civil projects
· Key knowledge of Earthmoving & Construction Equipment
· Contacts with Site Management and procurement within the Civil construction space.
· Highly motivated to build and drive the sales team forward and look to win key projects.
· Willingness to travel throughout all Victoria and Australia.
· Proven BDM with a long-term carer success
· Excellent team leadership and the ability to get the best out of your team
· Sound understanding of the Hire Industry
Location for this role can be located anywhere but preferably South East Melbourne, But it’s not a deal breaker if you’re on the West.
The future for this position will be to build the sales team. Open up new locations. Increase machine numbers throughout Victoria and get the business to Number 2 or 3 spot within Australia. The senior management team also want a plan of direction from yourself and what you’re going to look to achieve on top of these goals.
Salary Package & Benefits
In talking with senior management, we are flexible on the base point depending on your experience and capability to conduct the role. This package will sit above market rate and I can discuss this with you upon interview.
· Base Salary $150,000 to $160,000
· Fully maintained company Car
· Company Management Bonus $40,000
