Penny for Pound is a well-established Bread & Pastry Wholesale Bakery based in Moorabbin. We pride ourselves on producing a high-quality product, baked fresh daily and delivered to various cafes around Melbourne. We are a friendly, tight knit team, who take pride in what we do.

What are you:

We’re on the lookout for a motivated and hands-on Night Operations 2IC to support the team during the running of our nightly operations. This role is essential in coordinating slicing, packing, distribution, and clean-down activities while maintaining top-tier communication, quality, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Foster a positive team culture based on reliability, respect, professionalism, and service excellence

Communicate expectations clearly and lead by example during night shifts

Ensure staff are trained in line with OH&S and food safety procedures

Manage nightly packing processes ensuring accuracy and food safety

Coordinate product handover with Pastry & Bakery teams

Monitor quality control—products must arrive in excellent condition

What We're Looking For:

Proven leadership experience in a similar night operations or logistics role

Excellent communication and organisational skills

Strong understanding of food safety and quality assurance standards

Ability to think on your feet and adapt to shifting priorities

A proactive, hands-on approach and a commitment to teamwork
