We are seeking experienced and dynamic Duty Managers to lead our bar team and oversee the daily operations of our establishment. The ideal candidate will possess a deep passion for hospitality, work well under pressure, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer experiences.
The Duty Manager plays a vital role in supporting the Hotel Manager to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the bar and all food & beverage. The duty manager is expected to step into the Hotel Manager's role during their absence, ensuring continuity and upholding the establishment's standards.
• Bar and Bistro Service: Food and beverage service to the highest customer standards, while balancing costs to the organisation.
• Customer Service Excellence: Ensure all patrons receive prompt, friendly, and professional service. We are known for providing a friendly and efficient service to our customers and we look to maintain this at every opportunity
• Staff Management: Support Hotel Manager to supervise bar staff and kitchen staff. Develop staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage during peak hours while balancing labour costs. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Inventory Control: Monitor and manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and restocking as needed. Maintain accurate records of inventory usage and wastage.
• Event & Bookings Management. Be a point of call for customers wanting to hold events at the hotel. This includes managing correspondence and ongoing customer relationships.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations regarding alcohol service and sales. Maintain a clean and safe environment for both staff and patrons.
• Promotions and events: Plan and execute promotional events to increase bar traffic and sales. Coordinate with Hotel Manager to advertise events and specials. E.g. trivia nights, weekly raffles etc
• Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records of sales, expenses, and other relevant data. Prepare reports as required by management.
• Cleaning & Presentation: Cleaning when Required and an eye for detail is a must. We take great pride in keeping our pub tidy and a prompt and efficient team make this possible.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
This role requires outstanding customer service skills and the ability to join a collaborative, professional and fun team. The role therefore requires:
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and lead by example.
· Experience with POS systems and hospitality financial management.
· RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification required.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:
· Must be able to commit to 25 hours per week, and available every weekend.
· Ability to work autonomously
· Friendly and ‘can-do’ attitude
